I use it all the time. I even have the docking station for it that saves plugging in a power cord. I’d buy another one in a heart beat.
But, a tablet must IMHO have expansion memory, And must be easily portable. I’m not sure if this Google one even comes off the docking station, if not, I wouldn’t call it a tablet at all.
Lenevo make excellent android tablets as well.

This can be frustrating on Android phones, but on an Android tablet, it is simply inexcusable and should not be regarded as acceptable or tolerable.

The lack of an iPad-like data only SIM capability, simply beggars belief. It means this tablet can’t be usable everywhere you can go.

The pathetic excuse of a rear camera is worse than no rear camera at all. With no rear camera you wouldn’t be inclined to try to use a potato camera to try to take a viewable photo. A decent multi-lens shooter with LED flash, as is on even mid tier phones, should be the absolute minimum standard of cameras on tablets.

Docking hub power connector, proprietary. This is point blank unacceptable. I really hope that Europe bans this device from sale due to it not having USB C power in.

I’m currently still actively using my fourth Android tablet, a Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite 4G/LTE. I’ve been using Android tablets since September 2011.

From what you describe, it kind of sounds like it would, and that price sure is appealing.

You have to pay for the matching pen.
It doesn’t have the dock you describe but honestly that is a bit of fluff as you can lean the Pad 5 anywhere. Over 12 hours battery life. WiFi only (like the pixel)
The thing is, the Pad5 is a massive $400 cheaper than the pixel! THAT’S $400 CHEAPER.
As with all Xiaomi’s the build quality is superb.
Xiaomi have released the Pad 6 with some extra refinements and each model comes with a “Plus” version – all still under the Pixel price.
I have a Chinese version (bought in Australia) but with Play Store etc.
Pretty sure the older Pad 5 would beat the Pixel head to head
